Estimated Timelines & Budgets
Our primary goal is always to help you achieve the truest version of your vision. With our Design-Build process, we’ve made this easier than ever.
At Godfrey Design-Build, we work with homeowners to create spaces that improve homes and how our clients live in them. A key part of this process is to create realistic expectations and ensure crystal clear communication between you and our team. We want to make sure that when you decide to move forward with a project, you know exactly what to expect.
Most of the questions we receive from prospective clients revolve around how long projects will take and how much they will cost. While you’ll always know an estimated timeline and cost prior to signing on the dotted line, we know that having a general understanding of timeline and budget when even considering a remodel is crucial. While every single project we work on is unique and will have different timeline and budget constraints, below we’ve laid out what you can expect on average.
Timeline
We work hard to offer a realistic and straightforward timeline to all of our clients.
Your timeline will depend on the size and particulars of your project. Additionally, each stage of the project has a lot of moving pieces that could affect the timeline. This includes permits, material orders, and subcontractor timelines.
We’ll always do our best to keep you fully in the loop as we work on your project, making you aware of any major delays or adjustments so you can plan accordingly.
Consultation & Pre-project: 2-4 weeks
- Design Phase: 4-8 weeks
- Selections Phase: 6-10 weeks
From there, construction will begin. Depending on the type of project, the length of the construction phase will vary greatly:
- Kitchen: 9-13 weeks
- Bathroom: 5-8 weeks
- Basement: 8-14 weeks
- Addition: 3-6 months
- Whole Home: 4-8 months
Budget
Just as timelines vary from project to project, so do budgets.
While it isn’t possible to provide an accurate budget range without first gathering knowledge specific to your project, we can offer a guideline:
Generally speaking, a realistic budget for a kitchen remodel typically ranges from 15% to 25% of your home’s overall value. So, for a home valued at $1,000,000, you should consider a budget between $150,000 and $250,000 for a comprehensive kitchen renovation. This investment range allows for a detailed and high-quality remodel that enhances both the functionality and aesthetics of your kitchen, ensuring it aligns with the value and style of your home.
